Understanding co-creation

What a powerful notion is it to consider that we are co-creators of every scenario we experience in this life to help us evolve. I mean, most of us understand that the experiences we have as humans provide us with an opportunity to grow and evolve. But to say that we co-create the scenarios of our lives so that we can evolve on a soul level...well, that feels like a whole new level.

Co-creation has been a part of the spiritual arena forever, yet there is always room for us to feel its power in a new way. At times we may struggle to take in the notion that we co-create our reality, especially in relation to the times when we feel devastated by the circumstances of our lives and want nothing more than to be free of them.

The notion of humans as co-creators is present across many spiritual traditions as well as in modern quantum physics, suggesting that there is some truth to it. As we embrace and explore this concept, let's be careful not to misinterpret co-creation as meaning that our struggles are all our doing. They are not.

We do not live in a vacuum. We live in a dimension in which we are in a constant state of exchange with the rest of reality—acting, responding, influencing and changing within it. This is a dynamic reality rooted in energy. While we certainly have a role in the energy we express in our lives, we do not have control over all the ways that energy or the energy of others flows through it.

Another aspect of teachings about co-creation is the notion that on some level in some way, our soul participates in connecting us with just the right experiences we need to evolve past the obstacles that keep us from our fullest expression in life. At the root of human evolution is a calling to drop our social masks, defenses, stories and conditioning to let our core nature shine out into the world. And our core nature is a vibrating pure love. When we succeed at this, we may truly find our Garden of Eden right her on Earth.

Remember if we change nothing, nothing changes.
